An interview with Dr. Letitia Wright who is one of our featured speakers at Create To Launch Conference on October 15, 2011. She so graciously answered my questions about her, her business, and how she became so determined to be a successful business owner.
What is the name of your company? The Wright Place

Give a brief description of what the company is and does: The Wright Place TV Show is focused on business owners. We promote businesses and share business tips and information for business growth
How long have you been in business? 11 years
What made you want to become a part of Create To Launch Conferences? I met Neisha while networking. We soon discovered we had several things in common in relation to our businesses. When she asked me to share my public relations expertise with other business owners, I knew this was something I wanted to do; reach back and help others.
What is the most fulfilling aspect of being a business owner? That I choose my own destiny on a daily basis. I can control my own path.
How important is a support system for you to succeed? Very important. Having a good team is critical to your dream.
What do you wish you would have known five years ago/or before you started your business? Not to spend time trying to fit in where I knew it was not beneficial for my business. I had to make myself visible to MY clientele.
What has been the most challenging part of being a business owner? Taking time to appreciate what I have accomplished.
What would you tell someone who wants to move to the next level in their business? I would tell them to develop a team who has the skills to take you to the next level.
What personal changes have you had to make as a business owner? I have owned my own business for so long I can not really remember any other lifestyle.
What advice do you have for attendees? Make sure you take notes and come away with at least one nugget from each speaker. Even though you will not relate to everyone, they can still contribute to your success.
What can one expect from you at CTLC? If you have never heard me speak, make sure you wear your Big girl underoos! I want you to be excited about your business.
Tell us something others don’t know about you? I was home schooled for most of my life, before home schooling was even a term. My mother risked jail to take me out of the public school system which allowed me to learn at my own pace, graduate high school at 16, and move into the things I did well. MY mother is an extraordinary woman who opened the world of possibilities to me, even if she had no interest in them herself.
